Integration Interface for Cabinet Power Management Locks and Access Control Systems

The key to integrating cabinet power management locks with an existing access control system lies in whether the interface layer adopts open protocols such as Wiegand, OSDP, or RESTful API, and can output unlock logs, door status, and abnormal alarms. Why Cabinet Locks Cannot Operate Independently

Cabinets and distribution boxes are typically 'extended controlled points' of the access control system, not independent areas.   • Event Reporting Format

    Capable of outputting unlock time, operator ID, door status, and abnormal alarms for unified logging by the central platform.

  • Power Supply and Backup

    The interface layer must have independent power supply or PoE backup to prevent cabinet locks from failing when the main access control system loses power.

  • Permission Mapping Mechanism

    Ability to map access card numbers, Bluetooth, or RFID credentials to cabinet-level permission groups.

Three Things Buyers Must Clarify Before Integration

First, confirm which protocol version the existing access control system uses; older systems may only support Wiegand and require additional conversion. Second, take stock of the number of cabinets and their distribution distance; if the effective communication cable distance is exceeded, repeaters or converters must be planned. Third, define which events are classified as 'alarms' and which as 'general records,' as this will affect subsequent reports and alarm settings. Only after the integration interface specifications are confirmed should the OEM/ODM prototyping and testing phase begin, to avoid discovering incompatibility after mass production.
